Tranquil is a wonderful choice for helping overtired children, for calming racing thoughts, for helping process feelings of overwhelm or anxiety, and for preparing the mind and body for sleep.

BACKGROUND This proprietary roll-on contains Cedarwood, Lavender, and Roman Chamomile essential oils, and is unique to Young Living.

Lavender and relaxation go hand in hand as this plant has been used for centuries for its calming properties. Young Living Lavender is sourced from sustainable and scalable operations, including Young Living Lavender farms in Mona, Utah, USA; St. Maries, Idaho, USA; and Simiane-la-Rotonde, France.

Cultivated in Europe starting in the 16th century and now grown throughout the Americas, Roman Chamomile is a perennial plant with small white and yellow flowers that are commonly dried and steeped to make herbal tea. Roman Chamomile is synonymous with relaxation, and Young Living's Roman Chamomile is sourced from their Balkan Botanical Farm in Bulgaria.

Young Living's Cedarwood essential oil is steam distilled from the wood of Cedrus atlantica, a close relative to the biblical Cedars of Lebanon, or Cedrus libani. Historically used by the ancient Egyptians in ceremonial rites, this variety of cedarwood is now grown primarily in Morocco. Cedarwood essential oil is recognized for its calming and grounding aroma.

KEY INGREDIENTS Each key ingredient in this blend has wonderful benefits on its own, but when you add them together, you get a blend that is herbaceous, woodsy, and rich, and extremely calming for both the mind and body.

  • Lavender: Lavender is synonymous with calming and relaxing, making it a vital part of this trio. Lavender has a lightly sweet, herbaceous aroma that can be used to create routines for our minds to recognize that it is time to rest. Lavender can also help us calm racing, anxious thoughts when used intentionally!
  • Cedarwood: Because it is high in sesquiterpenes, Cedarwood can help our minds find stillness. This oil can help slow down our brain waves, bringing the nervous system out of a place of heightened stress and into a place of safety. Cedarwood has a rich, woodsy aroma that is grounding and peaceful.
  • Roman Chamomile: A favorite for inviting feelings of serenity and peace, this essential oil has been used for centuries for relaxation. Roman Chamomile It is also a favorite for helping overtired little ones find rest! Its warmth and gentleness can help create a relaxing and calming atmosphere that anyone can benefit from!

FULL INGREDIENT LIST Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) oil, Cedrus atlantica (Cedarwood) wood oil, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Anthemis nobilis (Roman chamomile) flower oil, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) oil

KEY CONSTITUENTS *Constituents are naturally occurring compounds in plants (and therefore essential oils) that give them specific health-supporting properties

  • Monoterpenes: These compounds can help relax the mind and body, and may help you calm racing, anxious thoughts.
  • Linalyl acetate: These constituents have calming properties as well as antioxidant and neuroprotective qualities, making them wonderful for use to help the mind and body find stillness and calm.
  • Sesquiterpenes: These compounds stimulate the limbic system of the brain, help lower brain waves from overly active to focused or from focused to meditative, help elevate the mood and calm the body.

TRANQUIL & EMOTIONS Some essential oils are especially good for opening up the emotional centers of our brain so that we can rewire the pathways. This is an opening to address subconscious memories and unresolved feelings that affect our health! When we experience a big emotion or a trauma, our brain makes physical neuronal pathways that we continuously reconnect when we remember, replay the events or even encounter a similar event. The good news is that we have the power to rewrite that programming with healing thoughts as we process our emotions (instead of stuffing or ignoring them!).

Because Tranquil contains Cedarwood and Roman Chamomile, this blend can help us deal with repetitive program glitches in our nervous system while also calming the mind and making our thinking more productive. The scent of Cedarwood, Lavender, and Roman Chamomile combined can help us to mentally and emotionally branch out, connecting and expanding our thoughts.

Use this roll-on intentionally as you journal, meditate, visualize different outcomes, or even work with a professional to understand the pain and process through it to move towards healing.
